On Monday, President Donald Trump spoke at the White House about what the context describes as his illegal war with Iran. During the appearance, AFP photographer Saul Loeb captured an image showing a dark red patch of skin visible beneath Trumpâs collar, with a large scab on the back of his neck.
After the images circulated, Captain Sean Barbarella, identified as a Navy emergency physician serving as the presidentâs doctor, released a statement saying Trump was using âa very common cream on the right side of his neck,â described as a preventative skin treatment prescribed by the White House doctor. The statement said Trump would use the treatment for one week and that the redness was expected to last for a few weeks.
Loeb also photographed Trump with discoloration on his right hand. The context notes prior repeated observations since July of bruising on the back of Trumpâs right hand, with White House explanations attributing it to frequent handshaking and aspirin use.
