The House Oversight Committee voted Wednesday to issue a subpoena compelling Attorney General Pam Bondi to answer questions about the Justice Department’s handling of files connected to the Jeffrey Epstein sex-trafficking investigation.
The subpoena proposal was offered by Rep. Nancy Mace, a South Carolina Republican. Five Republicans joined Democrats in supporting the subpoena, reflecting dissatisfaction among some conservatives with the department’s review and release of a tranche of documents related to Epstein.
Mace said, “The American people want answers on the Epstein files, and so do we,” in a post on X.
The Justice Department did not provide an immediate comment in response to the subpoena.
